"GIVING TREE"
SHARE THE JOY
THIS CHRISTMAS!

We have "adopted" children from a local elementary school again this year and hope to provide each child with clothing and at least one toy. These children might not otherwise have something under the  tree.  What better way to express the joy of giving!  There will be tags with choices of gender and age from which to choose. The unwrapped gifts will need to be brought back to church no later than Sunday, December 11. It is a good thing to provide for the needs of a child as we celebrate the birth of the Christ child.

LIVING NATIVITY SUNDAY,
DECEMBER 18TH 6-9 P.M.

It's not too late to sign up to help present our living Christmas card to the community.  We need actors and hosts as well as some treats to serve to visitors.  If you have never seen the Nativity, you are missing something very special.  Be sure to make time to drive by on the evening of the 18th and see just how moving the scene can be.  Load up your car with friends and neighbors and visit us!

CHRISTMAS EVE SERVICES

We will have two Christmas Eve
Services to celebrate the birth of our Savior, one at 7 p.m. and one at
11 p.m.  These are very special services, which help remind us about the true meaning of Christmas.  Come and be a part of Christmas worship on Saturday, the 24th.  Then prepare to worship Christmas day at 10:30 a.m.  It's not often that Christmas falls on a Sunday, so this  year our celebration is particularly important.  Please make every effort to be with your church family on Christmas morning.

MISSION PROJECT:
SATURDAY, DECEMBER 10
10:00 A.M.--3:00 P.M.

Every 6 seconds a child dies from
hunger. While many of us live with abundance, it is hard to imagine that there are many in our nation and around the world who are starving. In the gospel of Matthew, Jesus tells us that when we help feed one who is hungry, we feed him. On Saturday, the 10th we have an opportunity to work at the "Kids Against Hunger" warehouse to pack nutritious meals. We will meet at church at 10 to travel to Cincinnati to the site. If you want to be a part of this, call, text, email or talk to Trish as soon as you can. As we are busy planning to celebrate Jesus' birth, what a great birthday gift...feeding him.
In the coming year, you will hear much more about Kids Against Hunger. The Hebron/Burlington
Ministerial Association is sponsoring an event on
November 3, 2012 at the firehouse where we will work side by side our brothers and sisters in Christ to pack meals. Our goal is 250,000! It costs only $.25 a day to feed a child. Start saving your
quarters!

CHRISTMAS OFFERING
SUNDAY, DECEMBER
11TH & 18TH

Bullittsville Christian Church will be receiving the special Christmas offering this year on two Sundays.  100% of this offering will stay in our Region as a
collective witness to our shared faith.  Our Regional ministries can only function with your gift.
Prayerfully consider giving this holiday season.

COUPON BOX

We currently have a coupon box on the table next to Trish's office with lots of great coupons in it.  Each week we add to it.  You are invited to both put in and take out coupons.  Take advantage of this great opportunity to give and receive!

CHRISTMAS CAROLING
SUNDAY, DECEMBER 11TH
@ 6 P.M.

Calling all adults, youth and children… let's share some Christmas cheer!
Christmas carols have the power to share the Christmas spirit like nothing else. What a joy to sing them! Sign up to carol on the 11th by notifying the church office or signing up the sheet on the
bulletin board.

FOOD COLLECTION
HELPING THE HUNGRY

Our food drive continues to be in full swing.  Please continue to pick up an extra can or two and packages of non perishable foods.  We are attempting not only to help fill some depleted food pantries, but to give children something to eat while they are on Christmas vacation.  While in school, these children are provided with breakfast and lunch but during long holiday periods, these children often go hungry.
Please prayerfully consider filling a grocery bag.  Bags are still available in the church foyer.

DISCIPLE'S WOMEN
FRIDAY, DECEMBER 16TH

Come and join the women of the church for the monthly meeting of Disciple's Women.  This month we will meet at the home of Ania Trinkle at 7 p.m.  The women are currently studying passages from the Bible with a discussion led by Kathy Nafus.  Bring a snack to share and be prepared for some great
fellowship with the women of Bullittsville.

ADVENT DEVOTIONALS AVAILABLE

Make the most of this season by taking time each day for devotion and prayer. The congregational resource is called The Lord Is Near; it is a collection of writings from Henri Nouwen. It provides a scripture verse, a reflection and a prayer to help enrich your Advent and to aid in experiencing the true meaning of this season. These are available in the foyer.
