MAUNDY THURSDAY SERVICE

APRIL 13TH @ 6:30 P.M.

On Maunday Thursday we will meet in the Fellowship Hall and share a meal with communion in the presence of the disciples.  This year we are having a potluck meal.  The church will supply meat, but we are depending on the congregation to bring sides and desserts.

There will also be an opportunity to wash one another’s hands as Jesus washes the disciple’s feet.  Don’t miss this very meaningful service.  All who come feel blessed to have been part of this event.

Communion Preparation for April

Debbie Carroll & Holli Mueller

EASTER EGG HUNT SATURDAY,

APRIL 15TH @ 10 A.M.

Our annual Easter Egg Hunt has been planned!  The church needs donations of small wrapped candy for our plastic eggs.  Please have these donations to the church by Wednesday, April 12th.

Invite family, friends and neighbors and prepare to have a blast!

OUTREACH NOTES

The Outreach Team continues to provide, supply and give to various charities both locally and globally.  In March outreach collected a huge table full of necessities for Benchmark who care for children going into foster care homes.  (See the above picture.)

Outreach has approximately $750 to give each month.  In general, some of that goes each month to the Disciples Mission Fund.  Disciples Mission Fund is the common fund of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ).  Disciples Mission Fund supports 72 ministries of wholeness as close as your local congregation and reaching around the globe. This month outreach also allocated $250 to Cane Ridge.  Cane Ridge will have an opening day soon and we want to make sure they have the money for clean up after the winter and make improvements as needed.

Just know that this team is making its best effort to make a difference with your offering both here and around the world.

Dear Bullittsville,

On behalf of the Housing Opportunities of Northern Kentucky (HONK), thank you for the $250 donation we received today!  Your most generous support helps to create an affordable path to homeownership for people who need a little help reaching the American Dream.

Thank you for your most generous support!  People like you are what makes our mission possible!!

Most Sincerely,

David Hastings

Executive Director

Greetings from the church office,

We are almost through the Lenten season which means Easter is just around the corner! Easter is one of our most holy days of the year, which makes it a perfect time to invite family and friends to join us for our Easter egg hunt (Saturday, April 15th) and Sunday worship.

There are several interfaith educational opportunities coming up this month in which I want to encourage our church to participate. The Boone County public library is hosting a talk given by a Holocaust survivor on April 5th and 12th. There are very few survivors of the Holocaust still with us and this is a great opportunity to educate ourselves to the plight of Jewish people in the Second World War. The Islamic Society of Greater Cincinnati will be hosting a “Get to know your Muslim American neighbor” day on Saturday, April 8th at 1:00. This is a perfect  chance to get to know and better understand our Muslim brothers and sisters. We need to RSVP by April 6th so if you or your family/friends are interested please contact me (Rev. Dan) or RSVP at toursandtalks@cincinnatiislamiccenter.org. We are called, as a people of faith, to be God’s agents of peace, compassion, healing and wholeness in this world. Better understanding the faith traditions of others is crucial to living out this calling. Please make both of these educational opportunities a priority for you and your families.

We will be having a Maundy Thursday service April 13th at 6:30. This will be an intimate and meaningful service that affirms the tradition and importance of practicing the Lord’s Supper. I also want to encourage our church to attend the ecumenical Good Friday service at Hebron Baptist April 14th at noon.

I look forward to spending our first Easter season together and continue to covet your prayers, grace, forgiveness, input and encouragement as we navigate our ministry together.

Peace Be Unto Y’all,

Rev. Dan

SAVE THIS DATE!

SUNDAY, AUGUST 27TH

On this date, we as a church have been invited to the Florence Freedom Evening of Worship and Baseball.  We have decided to buy a block of tickets since we have to reserve our spot now.  Twenty-five tickets will be available at $8 apiece.  Those who have attended these games have always had a great time.  Come out, bring the kids, and join other churches as we enjoy a baseball game together.  See Dan or Bev to reserve your ticket.

NEW EDLERS/NEW SHEPHERDS

Following up on the March Newsletter, we are happy to report that all 17 BCC shepherds have received their Shepherding Program Booklets.

Included in these is a list of the Shepherds and

their flocks and guidelines for making the program

work.

In order to refresh our memories of the  1991

Shepherding Program, we also included the History

of that group. SO ……that means each Shepherd has contacted their flocks, introduced themselves, told you about the program, how it works and how important it is to the life of the church.

HOWEVER, if you have NOT received a call, email, text, pony express, shout or any other contact, please let Doris Newland or Pat Mobley know. We do not want to miss any of our sheep and we will find you a Flock and a Shepherd.  Thanks…..

DISCIPLES HOME MISSION 5K

This year Bullittsville is once again taking part in the Disciples Home Mission Virtual 5K.  The goal was to exceed our participants from last year and raise even more money for this wonderful cause.  We did it! Last year we had 34 participants and as of this printing we have more than that!

Those of you who have registered or even those of you who just want to come and help, should be at the Boone County Arboretum @ 10 a.m. on June 10th.  We have reserved the same shelter, #1, as last year.

This is an opportunity to share the passion our church has to put mission first. DMF Easter Offering funds go to support vital General Ministries like Disciples Home Missions, Disciples Women, Global Ministries, Hope Partnership for Missional Transformation, and many others. Learn more

Disciples Home Missions Virtual 5K: Moving for Wholeness

EVANGELISM IS AT WORK!

The evangelism team is working hard at making Bullittsville more visible and more welcoming to newcomers.  So with this thought in mind, they are ordering several mugs with our logo on them to be handed out to visitors.  Congregation members are encouraged to take one and pass it on to someone else or at least use it frequently in your own home.  We are still several weeks out before these will be available, but you will be informed as soon as they come to the church.

                             STEWARDSHIP NOTES

                               Bullittsville has a balanced

budget for now because of a

                               generous donation made a

                               few months ago.  We still

need to work a little on our

giving.  If you look at the

statistics on the back of your bulletin, you will see that each month we are very short of our goal.  In March we were $1,000 short of our projected budget.

Most of you are giving all that you can, and the church greatly appreciates that, but for those of you who could spare another dollar or two, now is the time to do it.  Please prayerfully consider your stewardship role.
