THE BOOK OF ROMANS
All are invited to a join in this
discussion group as we focus on Paul’s letter to the Romans. This book will enrich our faith and encourage our Christian living. As Christians we learn and grow by sharing with others as we study together. This study will run through February and March. Sign up by calling the church or putting your name on the list on the bulletin board in the office
hallway.
NEW MINISTRY FOR CHILDREN & YOUTH
BEGINS SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 7TH!
All school aged kids are invited to stay after church on the 1st and 3rd Sundays of the month for lunch, faith learning and hands on projects. This “VBS” style ministry will be active and engaging as we learn together and participate in service projects to help share the love of Jesus with others. Some Sundays we will even be “crafty!” So, whether you are in kindergarten or high school there will be something for you!
FACILITY PLANNING MEETING
TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 9TH @ 7:00 P.M.
As we prepare to replace the roof, update the insulation and do some other necessary projects around the church, we need to be sure we are using foresight in our efforts. The roof project will require a capitol campaign and thus we are using this opportunity to plan for any other projects the building may require. If you would like to be a part of this team, come to this meeting! All are welcome to join in the conversation and help keep BCC a wonderful facility for ministry!
DISCIPLE’S WOMEN
THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 11TH @ 7 P.M.
Disciple’s Women are almost finished with the latest study, John Ortberg’s The Life You’ve Always Wanted. This study is an interesting look at modern problems and suggests how Christian women might deal with them. Each chapter is a study within itself, so that newcomers are easily integrated into the discussions. If you have never attended, this may be the ‘pick-me-up’ needed after a hectic holiday season.
ALL CHURCH VALENTINE POTLUCK
SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 14TH AFTER WORSHIP
Everyone is invited! Stay after
worship February 14th for a potluck. Since it’s Valentine’s Day, we’ll have the fellowship hall decorated for this event, but you don’t have to have a partner to eat some delicious food! Bring your favorite dishes to share.
ASH WEDNESDAY SERVICE
WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 17TH @ 7 P.M.
Come to the community dinner and enjoy dining on pork roast, then head upstairs for the Ash Wednesday Service at 7 p.m. This begins the season of Lent. The brief service
includes the imposition of ashes as a symbol of our need for God’s mercy and forgiveness. Begin Lent on the right note by attending this service.
MOVIE NIGHT
FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 19TH @ 7 P.M.
Come and join the party! Okay, so it’s a movie, but it feels like a party with all the great snacks, discussion with friends and lots of laughter. By the way, entertainment is guaranteed. Dress in your comfortable clothes (after all, we’re just family) and arrive at the Kottmyer home around 7ish. Bring a snack if you like. Call for directions. (689-9919)
WEEK OF COMPASSION OFFERING
SUNDAYS, FEBRUARY 21ST AND 28TH
Week of Compassion is the relief, refugee and development mission fund of the Christian Church (Disciple’s of Christ) in the United States and Canada. This fund enables the church to equip and empower disciples to
